Why run Claude Code through Seedrise

Wholesale Claude rates

Below Anthropic list prices for Opus, Sonnet and Haiku 5.5, stepping down with volume. One rate card, one invoice in USD or AUD.

Australian regions

Pin your team's keys to Sydney or Melbourne. Prompts and code never leave the region you choose, and nothing is used for training.

Keys per team, limits per key

Budget, model allow-list, IP allow-list and expiry on every key. Usage by project on the invoice, so engineering spend is visible.

Setup in five minutes

Install Claude Code. Follow Anthropic's install for macOS, Linux or Windows. Nothing Seedrise-specific here.
Get your Seedrise key. Request a rate card, receive your console login, and create a key for the Claude Code team in the console. Limit it to the Claude models and set a monthly budget.

Set the environment. Put these in your shell profile (~/.zshrc or ~/.bashrc). The base URL has no /v1 suffix.

Log out of any personal account. If Claude Code was signed in with a personal Anthropic account, run /logout once so the cached login does not override the gateway.
Start and verify. Run claude, then /status. It should show the Seedrise URL as the gateway and your auth token. Send a first prompt.

Check it is working

/status shows https://api.seedrise.ai and an auth token.
The model picker lists the Claude models on your key (Claude Code calls GET /v1/models at start).
A 404 from count_tokens in verbose logs is expected; Claude Code falls back to its own estimate.
Usage appears in the Seedrise console within a minute, by key and model.

For teams

Ship the gateway to everyone with a managed settings.json. allowedProviders locks Claude Code to the custom endpoint so nobody can point it elsewhere; keys stay in each developer's environment.

Give each team its own key so spend shows up per project on the invoice.
Set CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_MODEL to Sonnet or Haiku to keep sub-agent cost down.
Fable 5.1 is enabled per key on request: add ANTHROPIC_DEFAULT_FABLE_MODEL="claude-fable-5-1" on those keys only.

Troubleshooting and questions

Claude Code says the API key is invalid. +

Check that ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN is set and ANTHROPIC_API_KEY is empty, then run /logout and start again. A 401 means the key is disabled or expired in the console; a 403 means the Claude models are not on that key.

Do I need to change my prompts or CLAUDE.md? +

No. Claude Code talks to Seedrise in the same Anthropic Messages format. Tools, sub-agents, MCP servers and hooks work unchanged.

Which model IDs do I use? +

claude-opus-5-5, claude-sonnet-5-5, claude-haiku-5-5, and claude-fable-5-1 where enabled. No vendor prefix.

Can I keep inference in Australia? +

Yes. Ask for Australian regions on the key; Opus, Sonnet and Haiku 5.5 can be pinned to Sydney or Melbourne.

Does the Claude Code subscription matter? +

No. Through Seedrise you pay per token on your rate card, not a seat subscription. Any number of developers can share an account with separate keys.

A beta feature stopped working. +

Set CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_EXPERIMENTAL_BETAS=1 and restart. If it persists, send the request ID to support@seedrise.ai.

Windows: old ANTHROPIC_* variables keep coming back. +

Check both User and System environment variables and any settings.json under %USERPROFILE%\\.claude; remove stale values, then open a new terminal.
